Seattle Gluten Free Restaurants

Andaluca
407 Olive Way
Seattle, WA 98101

This cute little restaurant is located in the Mayflower Park Hotel. They serve Mediterranian food and offer a gluten-free menu.

Blue Moon Burgers
Capitol Hill
Fremont

Blue Moon Burgers is a classic burger joint, with free-range meat and gluten-free buns, courtesy of Jensens Bread. They have beef, salmon, and chicken burgers. All are delicious. This is a good option when you are on the go, the friendly staff is usually on top of service.

Blue Saucer
9127 Roosevelt Way NE
Seattle, WA 98115
(206) 453-4955

Billie, the owner, has brought in Sister Souls’ delicious little gluten-free loaves drizzled with icing. Flavors: Carrot cake, Coffee Cake, Lemon Poppyseed, Double Chocolate, Ginger Cake, Raspberry, and Chocolate. She also serves gluten-free quiche. I sampled some today and they were quite tasty! Blue Saucer also serves coffee, teas, regular baked goods, sandwiches, and other beverages.

Cafe Flora
2901 E Madison St
Seattle, WA 98112

Cafe Flora is hands down the best Vegetarian restaurant in Seattle. Most dishes are so well-prepared that you’d never miss the lack of meat. They list what items are available vegan and gluten-free on their menu and carry Maninis Gluten Free Pasta.

Cafe Piccolo
9400 Roosevelt Way Northeast
Seattle, WA 98115

Cafe Piccolo is my new favorite gluten free restaurant in Seattle. They serve gluten free lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti, fettucine, meat dishes, and bread – skyrocketing themselves to be one of the best gluten free Italian restaurants in Seattle. They are gourmet and command gourmet prices, but it’s worth every penny. See my write up on Cafe Piccolo.

Canyons Restaurants
Bothell Gluten Free

Monroe Gluten Free
Redmond Gluten Free

I have not eaten at Canyons since they added the new gluten-free menu, but have heard reports back that they are good and very accommodating.

Cuoco
310 Terry Ave N
Seattle, WA 98109
(206) 971-0710

Cuoco is a Tom Douglas gourmet restaurant in South Lake Union. They have their gluten free dinner options listed on their website (which is great!). They use Maninis Gluten Free Pasta for their macaroni dish. They may sub out other items as well, but you will have to double check with them.

Cupcake Royale

Bellevue
108 Pine

Cupcake Royale currently offers one flavor of gluten free cupcake. Double fudge brownie with buttercream frosting.

Eva Restaurant
2227 N 56th St

(206) 633-3538

Eva is a delicious and healthy restaurant in Tangletown. Eva Restaurant has multiple dishes that are gluten-free, like steak, fish, and chicken – all you have to do is ask. They also will make a dish gluten-free if they can. Right now they have an Almond Flour Chocolate Torte – to die for.

Flying Apron
3510 Fremont Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103
(206) 442-1115

Some of the best gluten-free baked goods around. Everything in this bakery is gluten-free. I began coming here many moons ago, when they were located over in the U-District. Their loaves of GF bread were so dense and hard, you could use them as a door stop. However, they have improved 100% since then, to the point where their treats and breads are better than most. They wholesale to PCC and serve hot and cold beverages.

Garlic Jim’s Famous Gourmet Pizza
Seattle Gluten Free
Eastside Gluten Free
All locations

Garlic Jim’s has pizza joints all over Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, and Colorado. They will make any flavor on their gluten-free crust! Read their gluten-free pizza reviews and decide for yourself if it’s worth a try. My favorite has to be the barbeque chicken.

Graces 5
8110 164th Ave NE
Redmond, WA 98052
(425) 636-8151

This place looks awesome! All of their dishes are gluten free, dairy free, soy free, and made with low sugar. I consider them American New as far as their cuisine goes. They also carry Maninis Gluten Free Pasta.

Homegrown
Fremont
Capital Hill
Queen Anne

Homegrown serves gluten free sandwiches, soups, and salads at all three locations. Everything is organic and locally grown. We really like this place, the sandwiches are delicious. When we were in the Fremont location they had run out of soup by early afternoon, so get there early, especially if it’s a cold day.

Icon Grill
1933 5th Ave
Seattle, WA 98101
(206) 441-6330

They carry Maninis Gluten Free pasta, I am still waiting to hear on what dishes can be gluten free. More to come!

Jimmy John’s
507 NE Northgate Way
Seattle, WA 98125

Jimmy John’s is the only fast food place I know of that will make you a “unwich.” Which is essentially a lettuce wrap with all the goodies inside. There have been many times where I was starving and happened to be near a Jimmy John’s. Being able to get something fast, saved my blood sugar from crashing.

Jodee’s Desserts
7214 Woodlawn Avenue NE
Seattle, WA 98115

And the Gods gave us Jodee’s. Each little pie is a slice of heaven, made with only coconut, agave, and love. Everything is gluten-free (they do use oat crusts, which some GF folks react to), vegan, and low-glycemic sweeteners. These little desserts are expensive, one slice is $7.00, but worth every bite.

John’s Mountain Home Bakery
5815 Lacey Blvd SE
Lacey, WA 98503
(360) 491-1151

Not quite in Seattle, but if you want GF baked goods delivered or are on your way down South for a trip, this little bakery carries both GF and regular baked goods. My favorites are the peanut butter cookies and banana bread.

Laughing Ladies Cafe
17551 15th Ave NE

Seattle, WA 98155

Fun little place just passed 175th off 15th. They carry Skydottir Cookies and GF pies by Josie, which are also Vegan.

Lombardi’s
2200 N.W. Market St 609
Issaquah, WA 98027

They have a fairly decent dedicated gluten-free menu that includes chicken marsala, chicken parmigiano, and bruschetta.

Maggiano’s Little Italy
10455 NE 8th St.
Bellevue, WA 98004

I have heard they serve corn pasta, but are not strict about how they cook it. I have only eaten at this restaurant once and they seemed accommodating.

Mamma Melina Ristorante & Pizzeria
5101 25th Ave NE
Seattle, WA 98105
(206) 632-2271

Mamma Melina’s will sub out their spaghetti or rigatoni with Maninis Gluten Free Pasta. You have to ask for them to do that and there is an extra surcharge.

Meritage Meadows Inn
21407 NE Union Hill Rd
Redmond, WA 98053

This is not a restaurant, it’s a bed and breakfast, but I have it on good authority that this B&B Innkeeper serves and bakes gluten free food for his guests!

Miro Tea
5405 Ballard Ave NW
Seattle, WA 98107
(206) 782-6832

Miro Tea serves sweet and savory gluten-free crepes and serves all sorts of other baked goods, along with teas and other beverages. Very good!

Mojito
7545 Lake City Way NE

Seattle, WA 98115
(206) 525-3162

They don’t really know they are gluten-free, but Mojito’s entire Cuban/S. American menu aside from the lunch sandwiches is gluten-free. They have slow-roasted pork, baked fish, plaintain cakes, and much more! One of my favorite spots to eat. They serve very large portions, so be prepared to take some home!

Nana’s Soup House
225 N 36th St
Seattle, WA 98103

**CASH ONLY. This restaurant changed their name to Kona Kitchen, so on yelp.com their place is listed as closed. They still have the Nana’s Soup House name in the window, which doesn’t make much sense. They buy wholesale gluten free baked goods from Wheatless in Seattle. I ate a gluten free sandwich here today and I’m happy to report it was pretty darn good. They also have wraps, soups, and salads.

Neighborhood Grills
Lake Forest Park Bar and Grill

Greenlake Bar and Grill
Eastlake Bar and Grill
Crossroads Bar and Grill

The Neighborhood Grills carry Wheatless in Seattle buns at all of the locations above. They don’t have a gluten-free menu, so you have to ask to substitute when you order a sandwich or burger. They also carry GF pasta for the pasta dishes.

New York Pizza & Bar
Queen Anne
Bellingham
Lynden

I have not eaten at this joint, but they now serve 10″ gluten free pizzas. I’m happy to hear it! I have asked the owner if he plans to bring in any pastas as well. More to come.

Palermo Restaurant
Ballard
Capitol Hill

Palermo is our new favorite gluten free pizza and pasta joint. Out of all the gluten free pizzas offered in Seattle, Palermo’s is the best. Their pasta is quite delicious as well. Best of all, they deliver.

Park Place Deli
4122 E Madison St

Seattle, WA 98112
(206) 328-2492

Park Place Deli has started to carry gluten free bread and offers sandwiches! They are located in the beautiful and posh Madison Park area of Seattle. Their food is very good. It is worth calling ahead to be sure they have gluten free bread in stock, they were out last time I was in.

PCC Natural Markets

All 9 Seattle locations carry Flying Apron, Wheatless in Seattle and many other gluten-free options. They also carry Udi’s GF bread, bagels, muffins, and pizza crusts. Rudi’s GF breads. Crackers, cookies, and much more! They’ve been stepping up their gluten-free deli options as well. At the Ravenna store they have take and bake GF pizzas, pre-made GF sandwiches, and some killer GF pumpkin, currant muffins for Fall.

PF Chang’s
Seattle Gluten Free
Eastside Gluten Free
All locations

PF Chang’s is a national Chinese restaurant chain that has a gluten-free menu. All their food is fairly good and they are very careful to be sure you don’t get any gluten, even with the sauces.

Piatti Italian Restaurant
University Village
2695 NE Village Lane
Seattle, WA 98105
(206) 524-9088

They have a gluten free menu listed on their website when you click the Seattle location. It’s very impressive! They use Maninis Gluten Free bread and pasta for their paninis and pasta dishes.

Pizza Works
14130 Juanita DR NE Ste 109
Bothell, WA 98011

Pizza Works is a typical hole in the wall pizza joint in between Juanita and Bothell. The owners are fairly eccentric, but super nice. All of their products (they have desserts too) are very good. They have whole wheat pizzas, gluten-free pizza, and offer non-dairy toppings. Most of their food is bought from local vendors.

Portage Bay Cafe
U-District
Ballard
South Lake Union

All three locations serves several gluten-free options for breakfast. My favorite is the yogurt, gluten-free pancakes. They are fluffy and huge, then you can top them with as much or as little fruit as you want.

RAZZiS Pizza
8523 Greenwood Ave N

Seattle, WA 98103

Formerly Romio’s Pizza and the first Romio’s to offer a HUGE gluten-free menu. They have everything you ever wanted, focaccia sandwiches, gyros, pizza, pasta, lasagna, ravioli, spaghetti, and desserts. I will say this and I don’t know what it is, but my stomach hurts every time I eat here. Maybe it’s too much cheese or the sauce, GF goods never hurt my stomach, so it’s not top on my list.

Revel
Fremont

Revel is a higher end, Korean fusion restaurant in Fremont that has many gluten-free options. Our favorite is their pancake with pork and short rib rice bowl with egg yolk. To die for.

Romio’s Pizza
Eastlake
Lake City
Redmond
Mountlake Terrace
Eastgate
Kirkland
Everett

Romio’s is a franchise, so some of their locations carry gluten-free options and some don’t. Above is a list of restaurants that buy wholesale from Wheatless in Seattle.

Roosevelt Alehouse
8824 Roosevelt Way NE
Seattle, WA 98115

Roosevelt Alehouse also buys from Wheatless in Seattle and offers gluten-free pizza, sandwiches, burgers, quesadillas, and chicken fingers. They are a step above most bar food, everything is well-prepared with fresh ingredients.

Sage’s Restaurant
15916 NE 83rd Street
Redmond, WA 98052

While I have not eaten here, so I can’t vouch for how good it is, I am happy to see a whole gluten-free menu on their website. That said, they just removed all the wheat, pasta, and bread out of the dishes. Of course this is healthy, but they could buy wholesale GF goods from Wheatless in Seattle and vary up their dishes.

Shiku Sushi
5310 Ballard Avenue Northwest
Seattle, WA 98107
(206) 588-2151

Shiku is one of the best sushi restaurants in Seattle and a destination spot for Ballardites. So it comes as no surprise they also cater to gluten-free diners. Tell them you are gluten free and the friendly wait staff will recommend rolls that do not contain gluten and also provide you with a gluten free soy sauce called tamari.

Skydottir Cookies
Ballard, WA
(206) 265-3195

The best GF old fashion chocolate chip cookies in Seattle. Mostly sells wholesale, but you can order directly from her as well by mail.

Snappy Dragon
8917 Roosevelt Way Northeast
Seattle, WA 98115

This Chinese restaurant is just a couple blocks from my house, but it’s taken me a year to try them simply because I’m not a fan of Chinese food. They actually have a whole gluten-free menu on their website for download. They even told me they use gluten-free soy sauce in all their gluten-free dishes. The food was good, but not my favorite.

Sweet Cakes Bakery
128 Park Lane
Kirkland, WA 98033

This bakery makes gluten-free birthday, special-occasion, and wedding cakes as well as cupcakes. I have not sampled them myself, but have heard they are quite delicious.

Taste of Amazing
18005 NE 68th Street Suite A-115
Redmond, WA 98052

Taste of Amazing has gluten-free chef-prepared meals. Their staff and kitchen are certified by the NFCA (National Foundation for Celiac Awareness) to prevent cross contamination.  They create products on dedicated equipment in shifts and follow rigorous safety procedures.

Thrive
1026 NE 65th St
Seattle, WA 98115

Thrive is a very good vegan restaurant located in the Roosevelt area of Seattle. First and foremost, everything is gluten free, but also organic, 80% raw, and the list goes on here. In other words, Thrive is a healthy place to eat. It’s also absolutely delicious. My favorite dish is the Buddha Bowl, which has chard, quinoa, dehydrated kale, cashew cream, brown rice, cucumbers, and mushrooms in it. It is flavored very well and the perfect meal for lunch or dinner. Their mouth watering desserts are based on Jodee Capo’s creations of Jodee’s Dessert (she used to work at Thrive). You must eat here.

Trophy Cupcakes
Wallingford
U-Village
The Bravern (Bellevue)

Trophy has just announced they are carrying a new gluten free cupcake and guess what? It’s red velvet! They are super excited, as are we!

Typhoon!
Redmond Gluten Free
Oregon Gluten Free

Typhoon! Is a small restaurant chain with one location in Redmond and a bunch in Oregon. They have pretty decent Thai food and offer gluten-free dishes. My favorite is the crab pad Thai.

Uneeda Burger
4306 Fremont Ave N
Seattle, WA 98103

You really do need a gluten-free burger from this place. They also use Wheatless in Seattle buns and offer a variety of interesting burgers that require lots of napkins!

Wheatless in Seattle
10003 Greenwood Ave N
Seattle, WA 98133

Sells wholesale to a large amount of restaurants, bakeries, and grocery stores in Seattle. They also serve a nice selection of baked goods, sandwiches, and espresso.

Whole Foods Markets

All Seattle locations carry Udi’s GF breads, bagels, muffins, and pizza crusts, WOW cookies, GF pies, pizza/crusts, pie crusts, Rudi’s GF breads AND they will make you a sandwich with gluten-free bread in the deli. What a blessing!

ZAW
Capitol Hill
Ballard
Wedgewood
S Lake Union
Queen Anne

ZAW bakes gluten-free pizzas in any of the artisan flavors, they deliver at some of their locations as well. Everything here is a little healthier than what you’d see at a typical pizza joint but I have to say the pizza crusts aren’t as delicious as some others I’ve tasted. Still I occasionally eat here and am thankful we have yet another restaurant thinking about our needs.

  1. Do you have this same sort of gluten free eating guide for the Eastside? This is great! I am forwarding this to my family- my husband, 4 of my 5 children, and 2 of my grandchildren must all eat gluten free!

  2. Pomodoro in Tacoma, 26th & Proctor. Had a family dinner there last night. No gluten free pasta, so I hope GF visitors enjoy salad. Talked to the server who said they had talked about it but “the kitchen was too small and nobody asks for it.”. Lame excuses. Next time Joseppie’s. Don’t people know you can’t order GF if they don’t offer GF?

  3. I’m going to be in Seattle for a conference later this month & I wondered if you could mention some good GF options downtown that won’t break the pocketbook. Particularly would be interested in healthy options without walking distance of the Roosevelt Hotel. 1531 7th Avenue thanks.

      • I don’t usually do that type of thing. You can look through my restaurant list and see what might be around you. I know Portage Bay Cafe is near that hotel and further up Roosevelt is Roosevelt Alehouse, which also has a ton of gluten free options. Good luck and enjoy your stay in Seattle!
